IT’S SHOW TIME!

I can’t believe how quickly the year has passed! It’s already Show Time! The shows are scheduled for Friday, May 20thand Saturday, May 21st at 7pm at the Mother Lode Theatre. We will do two nights of basically the same show so that all of the kids will have more than one opportunity to perform and so that all the family members wishing to see their child perform, will be able to come and enjoy the show!! The competitive company will do a few of their numbers but will be performing all of the rest of their numbers during our Company Show in June. This will allow ALL our outstanding, non-competitive dancers 2 opportunities to do the routine(s) they’ve worked on all year! Our 2021-2022 Competition Companies will have their big performance on Tuesday, June 28th, at 7pm at the Mother Lode Theatre. We’d love to see you at ALL of the performances our wonderful & talented studio will put on this year!

Students participating in the “Finale Production Number” must attend the practices on Thursday, May 12th (see the “Finale Schedule” to find the times for each age groups’ practice within this note!!). All-School Rehearsals (you do not wear costumes for these rehearsals) will be held at the Hawthorne School Monday, May 16th and Tuesday, May 17th for BOTH SHOWS. There will NOT be classes at the studio on Wednesday, May 18th. There will be ONE MANDATORY Dress Rehearsal at the Mother Lode Theatre on THURSDAY, MAY 19TH. Your dress rehearsal times will be exactly the same as your “all school rehearsal times” but be sure to wear your costumes and come to the Mother Lode Theatre for dress rehearsal! The times are located on the Show Order List. You must be at the dress rehearsal in order to participate in the shows.

M-Kate Photography will be coming to the Hawthorne School to take pictures of the kids in their costumes Thursday, May 12th, Monday, May 16th, Tuesday, May 17th, and Wednesday, May 18th. You will be able to sign up for your picture session online by clicking the following link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0E4CABA72BA1FF2-2020   Please do not let your picture session interrupt your rehearsal time at the studio.

DRESS REHEARSALS are very unpredictable as far as length of time. Since food and beverages are not allowed in the theatre, I would advise all students in both halves of the show to eat prior to rehearsal. Also, this is a dress rehearsal, which means wear your costumes and appropriate dance shoes. Dancers must use dressing areas for changing. There is to be absolutely NO costume changing in the audience! You may take pictures and videotape at the dress rehearsal but will NOT be permitted to do so during the shows; however, please do not share ANY video footage of our choreography on social media. We will have a professional video company, Montana Movie Makers, videoing the show. If you’d like to purchase a flash drive, please fill out the form by clicking the following link: https://forms.gle/puoPf5mGCzVRh82EA

We ask that only one adult attend their child’s dress rehearsal. Please no extra children or observers. Also, please sit on the sides because we use the center seats in the Main Area for the dancers. Dress rehearsals are very stressful. We do not want, or need, the extra commotion. Please be understanding that each group needs time to figure out the stage so please be patient in regard to start and end times!

SHOW NIGHTS: When you arrive at the theatre, please wear a cover-up. Students will be assigned a designated area to change and wait to be lined up. If you are only in the 1st half of the show and choose to not be in the Finale Number, you may join your parents AT INTERMISSION. You will need to buy a ticket for a seat unless you are a little one (age 4 or under) who can sit on a parent’s lap! If you are in the 2nd half of the show, you may sit in the audience until intermission, but again you will have to purchase a seat. Be sure you have a cover up or street clothes for sitting in the audience. We will have a time, following our very small dancers’ performance, for parents to pick them up in the Stage Left Hallway following the third routine in the lineup “Stairway to Heaven”. Only one parent will be permitted in the Stage Left Hallway to pick up their child. Make sure to keep your child’s cover-up with you so that you can put it on them and return to your designated seat. PERFORMERS AND NON-PERFORMERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GO BACK AND FORTH FROM DRESSING ROOM TO AUDIENCE DURING THE SHOW, other than the exceptions where the small dancers are to be picked up on Stage Left. The shows will start at 7pm prompt. All students in the first half must be in their designated dressing areas by 6:20pm! Remember, parking and the traffic congestion around the theatre is very difficult. Please leave yourselves plenty of time to get your child safely in the building by 6:20pm! Doors will be open to the students at 6pm. Performers must use the Washington Street Entrance. Doors will open to the public at 6:30pm. Moms: You can help your young dancer change at intermission but cannot go back and forth during the show. We will have people helping kids change so they are prepared and ready to get on the stage.

COSTUMES will be passed out to students next week! ALL TUITION AND COSTUME PAYMENTS must be paid IN FULL in order to receive your costumes. Please make sure the performers’ name is on EVERY PIECE of their costume, shoes, make-up bags, etc. in case there is a mix up during the rehearsal and shows. Once the shows are over, we do not keep excess “lost and found” items, so please make sure you have EVERYTHING you own at the end of the shows.

Thank you, parents and students, for your support, enthusiasm, and especially your cooperation with our hectic schedule. Our dancers and tumblers are going to put on fantastic shows for you again this year! Thank you for an AMAZING year!

Warm Regards,

Kymee & Krista
