Senior Core Tap Requirements

MINIMUM AGE IS 6TH GRADE FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR, MAXIMUM AGE 19 AS OF JANUARY 1, 2025

·      If you are in 9th Grade as of September 2024 AND have never been on a core company or never made Senior Tap, please attend all Junior Tap technique and choreography classes throughout August as well as Senior Tap!

·      Must be dedicated to this company, choosing it above all outside activities, and have a positive & willing personality.

·      Knows how to be a good teammate and encourager of those on the team, putting the team first above jealousy and self-interests!

All of the following will be involved in combinations:

·     Strong shuffles, all types of flaps, double flaps, triple flaps, thirds, double thirds, paradiddles/paddle and roll, and riffles.

·      Maxifords, maxiford turns, maxifords with pull backs, all types of pull backs with shuffles added as well.

·      Double pull backs, triple pull backs, grab offs and pick-up’s.

·      All types of rhythm turns.

·      All types of wings.

·      Cramprolls: regular cramprolls, reverse cramprolls, around the world cramprolls, and cramproll turns.

·      Knowledge of all time steps.

·      Crawling shuffles & riffles as well as shuffles & crawling shuffles behind.

·      Good improvisation skills.

·      The ability to learn a combination quickly and accurately with solid articulation.

·      Strong understanding of tonality and shading with footwork.

·      Strong rhythm and musicality.

·      Showmanship and performance skills.
